Manga Spring Picks – Titles to Read In The Sunshine

Spring is here and with the nicer weather it’s good to get outside and spend some time in the sun.  But what do you bring with you to read while basking?  Here are my suggestions for some of the best new releases going into Spring.

IS THIS A ZOMBIE?  Also known as “Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka?”  A book that takes the harem genre and turns it upside down into a parody-style comedy with plenty of action.  Ayumu Aikawa is killed one night by a local serial killer then revived as a zombie by an adorable and well-meaning necromancer.  He then drains a local magical girl of her powers and has to use the powers and fight the big “evils” that appear – complete with costume and magical chainsaw.  Add a vampire ninja in his already crowded household and Ayumu has seemingly died and gone to heaven.  But has he really?

New Anime – Gamers, Girls and the Son of Satan

Keima Katsuragi is an elite among the world of dating-sim gamers.  A game God who can conquer any girl provided she’s not real.  He takes on what he believes to be the ultimate challenge only to find out he’s made a deal with Hell and a demon girl named Elsie to chase lost demons out of real girl’s souls.  Now he must take what he learned in the 2D world and apply it to winning over girl’s hearts in 3D – or die trying.  Will the same rules even apply?

Durarara!! – New Release Excitement

This.  I’ve been waiting for this.  A manga release I can get behind, get excited about, put in your hands and with confidence say “read this, you’ll love it.  It’s different.”

Durarara is a mixture of everything – shonen, shojo, sci-fi, fantasy, urban, action, adventure, horror, psycological thriller, supernatural – there’s literally something in here for everyone.

At it’s heart is a story of the power of social networking and that we are all connected somehow – no matter how thin those connections appear at first.

CONSPIRACY COMICS EXHIBITING AT EMIKO’S MINI CON!
